Pickleball Game in Texas
Play Pickleball at 5 Soul Wine Co – A Premium Winery with Pickleball Courts in Spicewood, Texas
Looking for pickleball courts in Spicewood and near you? Our six outdoor pickleball courts are open for play year-round. And yes—you can absolutely enjoy a cold drink between games. We're about 30 minutes from downtown Austin, right in the heart of the Hill Country, close to Lake Travis, and easy to reach from Marble Falls or Dripping Springs.
When we decided to add something active to the winery, pickleball was the obvious choice. It's the fastest-growing sport in America. It's accessible, social, and fun whether you've been playing for years or you're just figuring out how to hold the paddle.
Why Do People Keep Coming Back?
We're not your typical pickleball court rental space. Enjoy wine and beer at the courtside bar, plenty of shade for breaks, and a relaxed atmosphere. The courts themselves are well-maintained and designed for serious play, but the vibe is relaxed. No one's going to judge you for missing an easy shot or taking a long break to sit in the shade with a glass of rosé.
Our pickleball courts are perfect for league night, hanging out with friends, corporate hospitality, and team building. It’s not just about playing and leaving; people love to stick around, share a laugh, and enjoy the unique atmosphere we create.

Walk-ins are fine if we have availability, but reserving ahead is definitely your best bet. Creating an account takes just a minute, and then you can see what times are open and grab the slot that works for you.

New to pickleball? Here's what you need to know:
f you've never played before, don't worry about it. It's easier to learn than tennis. It’s way more fun than it probably sounds when someone tries to explain it. You play with solid paddles (kind of like oversized ping-pong paddles) and a plastic ball that has holes in it, similar to a wiffle ball. The court is smaller than a tennis court—about the size of a badminton court—which means less running around and more actual playing.
The rules are simple enough to pick up in about five minutes:
Scoring
Game is played to 11, win by 2. Each team member gets to serve until they lose the point, with one exception, the team that serves first only gets 1 serve. The score is a series of 3 numbers; serving team score, receiving team score, server #1 or #2. Ex. 7-3-2 means the serving team has 7 points, the opposing team has 3 points and it is the second server about to serve.
Serving
Must serve underhand from behind the baseline, diagonally cross-court, clearing the non-volley zone. Only the serving team can score points.
The Double-Bounce Rule
Each team must play their first shot off of the bounce. Meaning, after the serve, the receiving team must let the serve bounce, then the serving team must let that return bounce before playing it. After that, the ball may be volleyed (hit in the air) or off the bounce. A player cannot strike the ball while standing in the non-volley zone unless the ball bounces first.
Great for groups and events
We host league play and tournaments regularly if you're looking for more competitive games on a consistent schedule. But we also do private court rentals for all kinds of gatherings—birthday parties, company team-building days, family reunions, or just a group of friends who want the courts to themselves for a few hours.
Corporate events have been really popular here. There's something about getting people outside, moving around, and competing in a low-pressure way that works better than another conference room meeting. We can set up food and drinks, reserve multiple courts, and basically handle the logistics so you can focus on your group.

If you're a regular player, ask about pickleball wine club memberships. You'll get 4 or 8 hours of free courts per month as a wine club member, priority when booking during prime hours, and access to member-only events and tournaments. It's worth it if you're planning to come out more than a few times a month.
Just want to drop in and play?
That works too. During our open play hours, we get everyone from total beginners who are trying pickleball for the first time to people who play in regional tournaments. It's a genuinely welcoming crowd.
If you show up solo, you'll usually find someone to play with or a group that needs a fourth. That's one of the best things about pickleball—it's social by nature.
The nice thing about having a winery attached to the courts is that it changes the whole feel of the experience. You're not just showing up to a municipal park or a gym. You can make an afternoon or evening of it. Play for an hour, grab a bottle of wine and some snacks, sit outside, and actually relax. A lot of people bring their non-playing friends or family who hang out at the winery while games are happening.
Getting here from Austin and beyond
We're at 4514 Bob Wire Rd in Spicewood, TX 78669. If you're coming from Austin, it's a straight shot west on 71—about 25 to 35 minutes depending on traffic. From Cedar Park or Round Rock, you're looking at roughly the same drive time. People come from all over the Hill Country because there really isn't another spot quite like this.
The location itself is beautiful. You're out in the Texas Hill Country with views, open space, and that feeling of being away from the city without actually driving that far. It's the kind of Austin Texas winery where you forget to check your phone for a while, which is increasingly rare.
What to bring?
If you have your own paddle and balls, bring them. If not, don't worry—we can help you out. Wear comfortable athletic shoes (court shoes work best, but any sneakers are fine) and bring water. It gets hot out here in the summer, and even with shade, you'll want to stay hydrated. Sunscreen is a good idea, too, if you're playing during the day.
Why is this spot different?
There are plenty of places to play pickleball around Austin, but combining the courts with a beautiful winery creates something that feels less like a workout. It’s more like an actual destination. You're coming out for the afternoon, not just for an hour of exercise. People celebrate here—birthdays, promotions, anniversaries, or just making it through another week.

We wanted to incorporate an active element for those who enjoy outdoor activities. As the fastest growing sport in America, Pickleball was our obvious choice! Come on out and enjoy our 6 premier courts, where you can drink wine in between serves.
We built our courts right, we maintain them consistently, and they're designed for real play, not just recreational dabbling. But we also wanted this to feel approachable and fun, not intimidating. Whether you're training for a tournament or learning how to keep score, you'll feel comfortable here.
Come and see why everyone's talking about it. Book your court online, grab some friends, and we'll see you out here. And yes, you can absolutely have a glass of wine between games. That's the whole point.
